About us
How did we begin?
You never forget moments of leadership — leading others, or leading your own learning.
The times you rose to a challenge or made a breakthrough boost your confidence for life.
These moments can change the way young people think about themselves, helping them to identify as resilient, independent thinkers.
By 2022, we’d already spent years unearthing children’s inner-leaders — Tom teaching humanities, philosophy and PE, Alex managing a residential outdoor-activity centre and running Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
We joined forces and drew upon our close-knit network of expert colleagues to run several multi-activity days for schools and sixth forms across South East England.
These competitive days combined philosophy, debating, outdoor education and improvisational theatre. And feedback from pupils, schools and parents was excellent.
And so Hidden Leaders was born. We’re dedicated to unearthing the potential of every young person.
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your sessions with our Year 12s earlier this week. It was exactly what we were looking for…
…in terms of building critical thinking and debating skills, and getting them to think on the spot. It was fascinating to see who rose to the challenge and equally who found it quite difficult.
In particular, those of our students who will face interviews for competitive Uni courses / degree apprenticeships will have found it beneficial in terms of having to justify their reasoning and respond to counter-arguments.
As far as I know, we are looking to re-book next year.
Katy Powis-Holt, Head of Year 12, Eltham College

Usually, yes. We understand that one of the largest costs for an offsite school experience is the transport needed to get there.
Therefore, we transform your school and its facilities into your very own outdoor learning environment.
-
Summer bookings: where possible everything will happen outdoors if the space at your school allows. We may ask to reserve an indoor space for inclement weather .
Autumn and Spring: whilst we will aim to facilitate as many activities as possible outside it is likely that we will look to use a school hall/ gym or classroom for some of our thinking and problem-solving sessions.

We would love to welcome as many school staff as possible to the day to support the students and get involved in some of the activities. However, we understand that releasing staff from their busy teaching timetables is difficult. Our facilitators will run all sessions, so we will just need some school staff on hand to support on more pastoral matters and supervise during any breaks.

These days are predominantly delivered in the south and east of England. If your school is further afield then please do continue to get in touch and we look into it further
